Organic Link Building

It is always best to have the natural way to build up links.  With the organic link building methods, quality content is the basis for the success of the website.  Marketing a website with the lack or presence of automated software is a great way to get online visitors.  Quality content that comes with the rich and high ranked keywords is of the utmost importance to this technique.  For many website owners, outsourcing content would be the best solution if they are unable to create content that is readable.

Links to Inner Pages

Google has recently increased their measurements for ranking, and they have considered that too many links to the main web page is a cause of concern.  Thus, it is best to have other external links that connects to the internal pages of the website.  The idea of Google introducing this algorithm is the fact that most of the interesting content is actually found in the inner pages rather than the main page.  Internal links would also help in ranking the web page.

Anchor Links Diversification

Websites have typically considered the keyword as the main protagonist in raking their websites.  However, Google seems to have anticipated this strategy and has evolved a number of methods to detect this.  Optimization of keywords to rank the websites is now considered as a Black Hat technique by experts.  Anchor texts now must have variations of the keyword to help it rank better online.   It is crucial that these links must still have natural appearance so that Google or other search engines will not raise a red flag over it.

There Is No Rush With Guest Blogging

in Content Writing, Link Building / No Comments

Ever since Google made it clear about half a year ago that link building will have to start becoming more legitimately acquired post-Penguin, there has been a rush by everyone to start guest blogging. This has also stirred quite a bit of controversy in the blogging world as well.

The Google Penguin update of April, which is often treated like some sort of paradigm in the internet marketing world, called for all marketers to clean up their act with link building. This meant that we all had to say goodbye to the days of comment spamming, link buying and slamming article directories.

Guest blogging is one of the more legitimate ways of acquiring such links, but now even this can be abused to the point where Google is going to start discounting links that they can tell are being pumped out with minimal effort and quality. As a result, we need to sit down and start to consider how we should all really be approaching guest blogging. It seems easy just to write an article, throw a link in there, and let everything take care of itself. But it is a craft that not everyone is capable of pulling off.

Guest Blogging

Before you start pounding away at the keys and getting out as much as you can, take a breath and consider some of the following points.

1.It Isn’t A Race

Google has made it clear that link building success has little to do with the quantity of links that you are getting through guest blogging. Instead, quality is the key factor, and it is something that should be taken with great seriousness. It doesn’t matter if you have put out twenty articles in one day (well, I can’t imagine anyone being able to pull that off and doing a good job at the same time), there is no guarantee that there is going to be a positive outcome for you.

Instead, you should take your time with the articles. I notice a trend that guest bloggers forget that they are actually writers, and rather just spin out “content”. Well, they are not just words on a page. You want people to appreciate the time that it took you to write a piece, and even more so, you want them engaged long enough that they will actually go to your website.

Approach with finesse, be mindful of your writing, and stay informative.

2.Write About What You Know About

The days of writing about the most random subject (let’s say – building a cabinet, for example) really need to go. Such basic topics have been used and washed up, and no one has the time nor the interest to devote themselves to reading such an article. The type of the writing that results in full-on engagement causes a lot of talk and drives people to want to read your writing.

The goal is not so readers accidentally stumble across your site, but that they hear about the article from a shared source and become interested enough where they voluntarily seek it out. The only article that get this type of attention are by writers who have a high level of knowledge in regard to the subject they are covering.

For instance, I couldn’t tell you the electronic functions of how a TV works, but as an entertainment writer and critic, I can make suggestions about what might be of interest on DirecTV in Connecticut (which is what I do). Even such a subject can be made interesting if you know how to perform the capture.

3.Set Realistic Goals

This draws some parallels to the first point of this article. Don’t think that you have to write ten articles a day just to keep up with the link output you had in mind. If it doesn’t seem like a reachable goal, it probably isn’t one, and this has no bearing on your level of ambition or anything. Usually I like to aim for between three and four a day, but if I feel that one or two of the articles isn’t at a good standard, then I just disregard it.

There is no use in trying to force an article on a website that probably doesn’t belong there. Google is going to start getting very smart with the kind of content that appears with the link you are trying to get. The guest blogging race has garnered attention by Google toward guest bloggers. Work smart, not fast.
